Daytona and then Marineland!

Crocket on the look out for dolphin and gators!
Very sad to see that the further north we head, the fewer palm trees we are seeing
My first time to Daytona Beach happened! We traveled 48 miles north from Titusville so I could at least say I've been here! We had another gorgeous trip, the weather was perfect and the wind was keeping us cool without blowing us around. We had a lot of slow spots because of protected manatee zones. We did see a tremendous amount of them on this leg of our travels. I will never get sick of all the wild-life we have been blessed to experience. We don't mind going slow to protect these gentle giants from getting hurt.
We arrived in Daytona around 1:30, got to cleaning the boat and then took Crocket for a nice walk around town to scope out the food possibilities. Pizza, check! Thai food, check! We are all set. Back to the boat to drop Crocket off and grab our bikes. Both our food choices proved successful!
Back to the boat and relax for the night.

Next morning we traveled 35 miles (still on the intracoastal waterway) to Marineland on the south end of St. Augustine, FL. The marina was small and very quaint. Steps from the boat is an amazing walking trail, that used to be an old campsite, and where we saw two snakes and the elusive gopher tortoise! Crocket loved this place and unfortunately the ticks loved Crocket.
Directly across the street is Marineland Dolphin Adventure. You can swim with the dolphins and watch a show. Also right across the street is the beach! What a pretty beach, the sand had the perfect smattering of shells and the water was refreshing. Ben and Crocket enjoyed the water!
Making our way to Marineland
We are enjoying our boat ride
The ocean was too cold for me!
Gorgeous beach, all to ourselves!
Gopher Tortoise, they dig burrows as homes that provide shelter to many other animals.
A couple friendly snakes along our walk
