We are STILL in the 'D'!!

Dinghy ride, Dinner out, My Nephew and a Boat ride
Docked in the south basin at Lake St Clair Metropark, nice facilities (beach, pool @$5/day, miniature golf, nice park grounds, small cafe and clean bathrooms and showers) but no shopping is within walking distance. Lucky for us we had a ride all week.
We traveled 80 miles from Put-in-Bay, Ohio. We heard from several boater, locals included, that this marina (Lake St. Clair Metropark) was a great stop for us to dock for the week. It is close to our friends and family, it is safe and has new docks. OK! We like all that! The bathrooms were very clean, the park grounds were well maintained, the pool was huge and the locals were all very friendly. We enjoyed our stay but missed one thing this place couldn't offer...that small town feel. I guess because it isn't a small town. No biggy! We were lucky to have a car (borrowed my friends car for the week) as any shopping/eating/provisioning was over 3 miles away. Our time here was spent with loved ones and most of our time was spent off our boat anyway.
We closed our week of fun with a pizza get together with Heidi, Chris, Pam and John. They brought us my favorite Michigan pizza (The Gathering Place in Troy) and salad.
Ben at the grill with John
Making Clem's recipe for jalapeƱo poppers, he is the birthday guy!
Check out the huge pool, we found weekends to be too crowded.
We enjoyed exploring the channels and the lake
It was pretty quiet while we were here (we were here for 2 weekends), from what I hear, this place used to be packed all the time. The busiest we saw was about 80% full on our second Saturday.

Small Gar? in the water. It is crazy how pretty and clear the water is here. It reminds me of the Keys.
He did not want to get out of the water
Wet dog=happy dog!
Some cute girls heading to dinner, Me, Dana and Heidi

Good times
This girl here is pretty awesome. I am one lucky girl to be able to share my life with her.
Dana, me, Heidi, Ben and Chris at Luigi's, the food was delish and the company was wonderful.
My nephew Frank (JP) and his girlfriend Natalie came out for lunch and took us for our last stock-up at the grocery store.
Loved being able to spend time with my sweet, handsome, goofy nephew. He (and Natalie) just moved into a new apartment at CMU (He is a sophomore) the night before. Crazy how fast time flies! I also saw my other nephew, the dog whisperer, Preston, but never got a picture.
These are friends Dave, Alyssa (their daughter) and Dana. They coordinated a boat day but we were only able to partake for a couple hours.
Grade school friends Dave and Dino played tour guide on Lake St. Clair, taking us on the locals loop. We could only spend a couple hours out on the water as we had to get some things ready for our departure the next day. It is always great to be on a boat! Even better with old friends!
