Boat in harbor

Boat in harbor

Hey! We know the owners on that GB!

Jammin Jane docked across from Morning Star
After a 98 mile run, we were both a bit tired and of course as we were coming into the harbor in Presque Isle, MI the wind picked up considerably. As we got closer Ben mentioned that there's another Grand Banks in the marina. Cool! I enjoy seeing other boats like ours. But as we were coming into our slip I recognized the boat and then saw the president of our Grand Banks Cruising Club. Jerry and Jean completed the Loop in 2008 on their 49 foot Grand Banks, Morning Star. And more impressive is that Jean operates her vessel! Too funny that we ran into them here! It is a small world!
Of course Ben had no problem bringing the boat into the slip with the high winds, making me proud to be the first mate!
After taking Crocket for a nice walk along some gorgeous trails and a swim in the beautiful blue lake, we had dinner with our buddies. We enjoyed comparing our Loop trips at the restaurant, located at the marina.
Not much more than a restaurant, ice cream and pizza shop here. Town is a car ride away, so after dinner we hunkered down. We have had two 90+mile days on the water, it feels good to relax knowing our next run is only 50miles and we are meeting back up with our friends Tim and Carol on Liquid Assets!! We are excited, it's been 5 months since we have seen them...we talk to them all the time, but it will feel great to spend some more time with them before we make our way back home.

Jerry and Jean on Morning Star, our morning was looking beautiful for a 50 mile run to Cheboygan
