Crocket enjoying our dinghy ride to see the band |
We traveled 7 hours to Erie, Pennsylvania and stayed at the Erie Yacht Club (EYC). The EYC is located on the Presque Isle Bay off Lake Erie.
We docked the boat, I walked Crocket, Ben checked out the clubhouse/bar, and we both got to cleaning
Jammin Jane. During this time, several people greeted us and came by to check out our boat. We had at least 4 or 5 visits and loved every one of them. We got word that the restaurant serves great food but even better, the band 10,000 Maniacs (An alternative rock band popular in the late 1980's and early 90's) was playing for free just a short dinghy ride in the bay.
Clean boat, clean crew, a lovely dinner at the club and a nice dinghy ride to hear the band for a bit. This stop was a great one for us. The members were welcoming and friendly, staff was courteous, dinner was great and the facilities were clean. Next time we come this way, we will for sure stop here!!
We have a 102 mile (10 hours traveling) run our next day so an early night is in order.
