Statue of Liberty then to Croton on Hudson, NY

I still can not believe we were actually here! We have been talking about this day for years while planning our Great Loop trip. It was breathtaking, magnificent and impressive!

Wow! What an amazing experience to see the Statue of Liberty from our boat (4800 miles to get here) and blessed to have our buddy's, Bob and Liz, there to document it for us!

We drove the boat past the Statue of Liberty!!! The past two times Ben and I saw the Statue was while taking the ferry from Staten Island to the city. Today we took our own boat past the colossal statue symbolizing freedom and liberty. What a special day! This will go down as one of our most notable days. It was pretty impressive!!

We stayed two days in Croton on Hudson. The marina we were at was nothing more than a long dock with power and water. The town was a bike ride away (we don't mind the exercise) and had a great grocery. We enjoyed breakfast at the local diner and Ben grilled us the best pork chop I've ever eaten (from Frank and Sal's in Staten Island)!

Docked on the wall at Half Moon Bay in Croton on Hudson
Gorgeous sunset, we were lucky to have our flybridge to see over the wall.
Ben and his little July 4th hat, of course we are eating ice cream!

Our amazing pork chop dinner
We explored Rockefellers park and tried to see the mansion but it was sold out. We were here over the July 4th weekend and did not plan very well. But we still saw some gorgeous land.
Stunning views in Rockefeller park

O'well, we took a trip to see the The New Croten Dam. Spectacular views! I'm still shocked New York has such beautiful landscape. It is very hilly and rocky and lush with green pine, oak and maples.
