Getting ready for the Erie Canal while staying in a great marina

Dinner out with our buddies...we only have one more week and we will be going our separate ways.
Shady Harbor Marina was a marina I could stay a couple days. There was nothing fancy about the place but the staff was friendly and welcoming and professional too. They pumped our diesel for us AND removed their shoes when coming on board to do so. The grounds had a fire pit, and yard games like bocce ball. We enjoyed time by the pool and dining at the restaurant on-site. The ships store had just about anything you could want from frozen organic chicken to decorative baskets and marine supplies. I needed to stock up on some essentials before we travel the erie canal system. This made it very convenient.
This is our last stop before entering into the Erie Canal system. Ben did an oil change, we fueled up, filled our water tanks, lowered our mast (we have to be able to get under a 20ft bridge along the eastern section of the Erie Canal), put down our antennas, and blew up our round fenders for fending us off the lock walls (we have close to 30 locks in 6 days). We are all set for the next week transiting the canal system.

More beautiful views along the Hudson.

Dinner at the Boathouse Grill, located on-site, food was good, service was subpar at best.
