Fellow Loopers Dawn and Colin (Movin On) and Ben on Jammin Jane |
One of the amazing things about doing The Great Loop is the people we have met!! And we have met some awesome people who will be friends for life!
Some of these awesome people include friends from New Zealand (but reside in Australia), Dawn and Colin, who have the boat Movin On. We traveled with this lovely couple from Illinois all the way down to Mobile, AL. They had to trek back home for a few months and have made it down to Marathon, FL!!!
We couldn't be more excited!
We enjoyed time by the pool, biking the seven mile bridge, dinner out, cocktails on board Movin On and remembering with pleasure the time we spent traveling. Ben and will I start to make our way north while they move south to the Bahamas.
These photos and memories will be cherished as we will not be seeing our friends for some time.
At least not until we pay them a visit!!
Here are some pictures of our time spent together...

Stopped by to see them at their marina, Marathon Marina. |
Ben and Colin reminiscing about our times traveling down the rivers and giving us some advice about our travels north from here. Dawn and Colin just crossed their wake (they completed The Great Loop) making them gold Loopers! |
We biked the old seven mile bridge. It was a glorious day, we saw lots of rays and fish and iguanas. |
This guy was BIG! |
Stopping to see the marine life. So pretty! |
The end of the bridge, where we stop to take-in the views, have a snack and some water, and turn around. |
We went for a dinghy ride to Boot Key and out to Sombrero Beach. Colin was able to test how long he could go with his new propane motor. I believe he got over 2 hours on a 1-pound propane tank. |
Crocket really enjoyed his time swimming with Dawn. |
Dawn and Crocket hanging at the pool for happy hour. |
